Smoked Turkey Cooking Instructions
- Remove the turkey fro its packaging. If the turkey is enclosed in netting, snip this off before warming the turkey.
- Place the turkey into the roaster pan with the breast facing up. Pour one fourth cup water into the bottom of the pan to keep the meat moist.
- Cover the turkey with aluminum foil by spreading a large sheet over the entire roaster pan and sealing it around the edges.
- Place the turkey into a 325 degree Fahrenheit oven and plan to warm the turkey between 10-15 minutes per pound. For example, if you have a 12 pound turkey, you will need to warm it between two and three hours.
- Check the internal temperature of the turkey after warming it for about 1 and half hours by inserting the meat thermometer into the breast. Remove the turkey from the oven when the thermometer reads 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
